this is Griffen, my second entry for may's contest!
I have to say hes probably one of my favorite of all my characters!

storyyyy

Griffen was born in a fox fur farm. his mother didn't care about him at all because she had had so many children and they all ended up dead within 3 months. they would be killed for their beautiful fur and turned into coats. luckly for Griffen he was born with only one eye and a coat that was far from decent. but he was still taken from his mother for his coat might come in use one way or a another, but when the people working at the farm tryed to beat him to death his fur would get and ugly speckly look to it. so they were unable to kill him. the kept him in a cage away from the other foxes, afraid that what he had was contagious and they didn't want to lose all their stock.
one night Griffen tryed to escape his cage but he wound up with his arm caught in the bars. the next morning when the people came to work one of them noticed his trapped leg, so he oppened up the cage and tryed to free it but when he did Griffen slipped out of the cage and ran for his life, but he got caught in a corner by one of the other workers who beat him with a metal pole on his back, hip, and his tail. although the pain was horrible Griffen managed to still run from them and he crawled out a hole in the wall, that had been used for ventilation. once he was out he quickly found a hiding spot among the shrubs and small bushes.

about ten years later he still lives around the farm but instead of him fearing the workers, the workers fear/hate him.
every saturday night he sneeks into the farm and unlocks nearly all the cages where the foxes are kept, most of the foxes get away but some don't and face the cruel deth that Griffens parents and siblings had to face.


Random facts about him:
Griffen has been beaten numourous times, by the workers and even other foxes (that have gone insane from living where they do)
he dosn't get much to eat which is why hes so skinny, hes actually the size of a normal male de la bleu but being so skinny makes him look small.
becaus hes not a pure de la bleu he cant shape shift very well, but he can turn into a pigeon, a mouse and a scorpion.
he dosne't have silky pretty perfact fur, its more rough and spikes out in random directions, its also very stiff and slightly brittle, and discolors easily, which is why he has random speckly areas where hes been injured.
they also couldn't use his fur because his underchest is the wrong hue of blue and makes him look mismatched and that wouldn't work for a coat.
the eye that is missing has no eyelid or seam at all its just like there never was even a socket there. his other eye is completly normal though 8D

Personality:
hes not very social, mostly because all the friends he makes get killed by the farm. and hes not very good looking, other foxes don't take the time to know him.
he has a hard time accepting kindness from others but he is actually extremly kindhearted. he wouldn't kill a spider even if it bit him. he even stays with the slowly dieing foxes the are thrown over the wall after they are skinned, he realy does care about them even if they hurt him in the past.
even thought hes seen so many deaths he still tryes to stay in a good mood but every once in a while he'll get depressed and just sleep sleep all day.
